Tomos’s first draft: a slide about a cube

Tomos, his class, the Shape Facts slideshow and the slide editor on this sheet are invented for practice.

1. About the slideshow

Tomos is in Year 5. His class is making a slideshow called Shape Facts. It will teach Year 3 pupils about 3D shapes. Each pupil makes a slide about one shape.

Tomos chose the cube. This is his first draft. It has some problems with the facts, the spelling and the layout. Your job is to find them.

2. Tomos’s first draft on screen

This is a pretend slide editor. The number under each button matches the list in section 4.

It has 6 faces and every face is a sqaure. A cube has 8 edjes. It has 8 verticies where 3 edges meet. Opposite faces are paralel. Edges that meet at a vertex are perpendiculer. Each face is a quadrilatral with 4 right angels. Most dice are cubes.

3. The words on the slide, made bigger

On screen the words are tiny. Here they are again, big enough to read. They are copied exactly, mistakes and all.

5. Tomos’s note about his picture

“I took a photo of one of our dice on my table. It came out on its side. You can see my mug and my pencil in it too, and the dice looks really small. I ran out of time to fix it!”
