Skills for Life: Understanding Self and Others

Mae disgrifiad y cymhwyster yn Saesneg yn unig, gan ei fod wedi ei gymryd o fanyleb Saesneg Open Awards.

Understanding Self and Others is an Open Awards Skills for Life unit offered at 5 levels, Entry Level 1 to Level 2, in which learners explore identity, emotions and how to manage them, communication, healthy relationships, diversity and inclusion. Each level is a 20 hour unit assessed through provider designed tasks, role play and observation, with evidence in a portfolio. Digital demand is low: the unit lists Literacy and Digital as cross-curricular skills and names social media trends and digital consent as examples at Level 2, but no criterion requires digital work.

Level 1 and Level 2 learners plan a way to promote inclusion, with examples such as a school display, a welcome pack for new students and a multicultural assembly presentation. Learners may create these digitally, but the criteria only require a plan, so this is taught, not assessed.
